Bethany Luxton

Bethany Luxton is a Brighton based mixed media artist who draws inspiration from nature, fantasy and all things whimsical. 

The subjects of her work are often insects and animals that society often overlooks or deems unappealing, situating them under a more playful and fantastical lens.

Her piece ‘The Forgotten Wizard’ is a large scale medieval inspired tapestry that pays homage to the important work accomplished by Pigeons whilst paying homage to the fantasy and folklore that act as a muse to her body of work. By presenting a creature usually seen as common and, occasionally, even a pest as something far more grandiose and regal, ‘The Forgotten Wizard’ becomes a striking visual piece.
